Sonja Trierweiler is a digital marketing and communications expert, writer, and ultimately, a storyteller. She specializes in identifying narratives and honing in on key messages to drive marketing and business goals.

A concise writer and expert communicator, Sonja has helped organizations, companies, people, and products tell their stories to the right audiences.

Most recently at Fitwel, Sonja built and managed a 10+ person marketing and communications team of full-time employees and vendors, created short- and long-term marketing campaigns and plans, and defined the social media, email marketing, and website strategies for the rapidly expanding company.

Also in the healthy building space, Sonja launched and directed the U.S. Green Building Council’s Living Standard campaign, which was designed to focus the organization’s efforts on what matters most about buildings — the people inside them. While originally an educational storytelling series on the benefits of sustainable buildings, Living Standard became USGBC’s pivotal grassroots initiative, a galvanizing and inspiring tool to share best practices and support the organization’s ambitious, inclusive, and resilient vision for the decades ahead.

Her experience working in progressive spaces such as at the Democratic National Committee (developing content and digital strategy while managing social for then-VP Joe Biden and the DNC Chair), with various clients while at Edelman (like the WNBA, Unilever, and Booking Holdings), on online branding with Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, and as the Smithsonian Associates’ first ever social media specialist, taught her how to build not only a campaign — but organize a movement.

Sonja has lived and worked in Michigan, DC, New York, and now, Denver.
